Apple Ring Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    enough cucumbers that 16 c. water will cover
    16 c. water
    2 c. lime
    5 lb. sugar
    6 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. powdered alum
    2 Tbsp. salt
    8 oz. red hots
    1 oz. red food coloring
    8 sticks cinnamon
Preparation
    Slice, peel and cut centers out of cucumbers.
    Soak overnight in lime water.
    Drain and soak overnight in ice water; leave in icebox the next day for 4 hours.
    Next, mix sugar, vinegar, alum, salt, red hots, food coloring and cinnamon sticks; bring to boil. Reduce heat and boil gently for 30 minutes.
    Can in jars.
