Popcorn Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. popped corn, Kix or Cheerios
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. light corn syrup
    1/4 c. butter
    1/3 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put corn in large bowl.
    Mix sugar, water, syrup, salt and butter in saucepan.
    Cook to 250\u00b0 or until a few drops form a hard ball when dropped into cold water.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in vanilla and pour in thin stream over corn, stirring constantly to mix well.
    With buttered hands, shape into balls.
    Add food coloring to syrup if desired.
    Makes 12 to 15 large balls.
