Cherry Cream Puff Ring - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1 c. flour
    1 c. milk
    1 (3 3/4 oz.) pkg. vanilla instant pudding
    1/4 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 c. butter
    4 eggs
    3/4 c. sour cream
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Puff:
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Heat water and butter to boiling in a 1-quart saucepan.
    Stir in flour.
    Stir vigorously about 1 minute until mixture forms a ball.
    Remove from heat; add eggs, one at a time.
    Beat until smooth.
    Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a greased baking sheet to form an 8-inch ring.*
    Smooth top with spatula.
    Bake until puffed and golden, 50 to 60 minutes.
    Cut off top with sharp knife.
    Pull out any soft dough.
