Stewed Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 fryer, cut in 8 pieces
    1 large green pepper, in strips
    1 c. mushrooms, halved
    1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
    1/4 c. red wine
    2 Tbsp. oil
    4 large cloves garlic, smashed
    1 Tbsp. dried oregano ro 3 Tbsp. fresh
    1 Tbsp. sweet basil or 3 Tbsp. fresh
    1 Tbsp. dried thyme or 3 Tbsp. fresh
    1 qt. jar whole tomatoes
Preparation
    Wash, cut and dry chicken; brown in oil.
    Place in 3-quart casserole and add other ingredients.
    Cook, uncovered, 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350\u00b0 or until chicken becomes loosened from bone.
    Salt and pepper to taste.
    Serves 4.
