Layered Lettuce Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    4 hard-boiled eggs
    10 oz. pkg. frozen peas
    1/2 c. green pepper, diced
    1 onion, diced
    10 to 12 slices bacon, well cooked and diced
    2 c. mayonnaise and 1 Tbsp. sugar, mixed well
    4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Put lettuce in a 9 x 13-inch glass dish.
    Layer rest of ingredients, except mayonnaise mixture and cheese, as listed.
    Put mayonnaise mixture on top, then sprinkle on the cheese. Refrigerate at least 8 to 12 hours before serving.
