German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium to large potatoes
    1 onion
    1 apple, diced
    1/2 c. green peas (optional)
    1/4 c. diced pickles
    3 Tbsp. oil
    3 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1 to 2 tsp. chopped parsley
    salt, pepper and sugar to taste
Preparation
    Scrub potatoes; boil in skins until done.
    Then peel and cut into slices or cubes.
    Add onion, apple, peas and pickles; mix oil, vinegar, water, salt, pepper, sugar and parsley well.
    Pour over warm potatoes.
    Serve warm or chill for 1 hour and serve cold. Substitute with bacon fat from 4 slices of bacon.
    Crumble bacon and add to salad.
    Serves 4.
