Never Fail Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 egg, well beaten
    5 Tbsp. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix flour, salt and shortening.
    Add water and egg, making soft dough.
    Divide into two parts.
    Roll out into very thin sheets and let dry for 15 minutes.
    Cut into small strips and drop in boiling broth.
    Cook until tender.
