Ingredients

1 c. butter
1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream butter and sugars.
Add egg and blend.
Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough, about 1 inch apart, on cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until very light brown, at 350\u00b0.
Makes 3 dozen.
