Ingredients

1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar (packed)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
2 Tbsp. milk
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate bits
Preparation

In large bowl cream together until fluffy shortening, sugars and vanilla.
Whisk in egg.
Stir in cocoa and milk.
Fold in flour and soda, mixed, and chocolate bits.
Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto nonstick (or greased) baking sheets.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 12 minutes.
Cool about 5 minutes before removing cookies from sheets.
Makes 5 dozen.
