Lentil Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 to 1 lb. ham cubed
    1 lb. lentils
    1 package onion soup mix
    2 bay leaf
    10 cup water
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    8 whole cloves
    2 cups diced carrots
    2 cups diced potatoes
    1 cup chopped celery
    1/4 cup parsley flakes
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    In large kettle combine ham, onion soup, bay leaf, lentils, pepper, allspice, cloves, parsley flakes and salt. Bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
    Add carrots, potatoes and celery. Return to boiling point, reduce heat, cover and simmer one hour or longer until ham and vegetables are fork-tender.
