Grandma Hebel'S Stacked Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 head lettuce
3/4 c. diced celery
1/2 c. diced onion
1/4 c. diced green pepper
1 pkg. frozen green peas, cooked as directed on package
salt
1 pt. Thousand Island dressing (recipe follows)
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 lb. crisply fried bacon, cut into small pieces
Preparation

Break large head of lettuce into bite size pieces.
Put in
a large bowl.
Add celery, onion, green pepper and peas.
Salt lightly.
Spread with one pint Thousand Island dressing.
Be sure to cover all ingredients well.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Add cheese. Add bacon.
Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
