Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 2/3 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    2 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. vanilla flavor
    2/3 c. cocoa
    1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/3 c. water
Preparation
    Combine butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl.
    Beat at high speed for 3 minutes.
    Blend dry ingredients in separate bowl.
    Add with water to the creamed mixture.
    Pour into two greased and floured 9-inch layer pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until cake tester is clean and dry.
    Cool for 10 minutes, then frost with a buttercream frosting.
    Serves 10 to 12.
