1 lb. brown sugar
1 lb. butter
1 lb. flour (4 c.)
10 eggs
1 c. French brandy or cream sherry
2 lb. raisins
2 lb. currants
1 Tbsp. mace
2 nutmegs, grated
1 Tbsp. ground cloves
Preparation

Preheat oven to 250\u00b0. Take 1/2 cup of flour and dredge raisins and currants in it; set aside. Cream butter and sugar thoroughly. Beat eggs until light. Sift remaining flour with mace, cloves and nutmeg. Add flour alternately to batter with beaten eggs. Stir in brandy and fruit. Pour into baking pan. Bake in 250\u00b0 oven for 2 or more hours. Makes 36 servings. Preparation time: 2:50.
