Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp. salt
    1 c. celery, sliced
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1/4 c. raw rice
    1 1/2 qt. water
    1 c. diced onions
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. cubed potatoes
    1 c. sliced carrots
    2 c. cooked tomatoes
    1 c. shredded cabbage
Preparation
    Cook ground beef and onions together, browning the meat a little.
    Add vegetables and water.
    Bring to a boil and sprinkle the rice over and bring to rolling boil; cover and let simmer for 1 hour.
    Should be cooked in a 6-quart kettle.
    Will serve 6 to 8 people.
    Can be served with shredded cheese on top.
    This is a good-for-you, low-fat meal.
