Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
6 Tbsp. sour milk
1/4 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg (freshly grated is best)
4 c. unsifted flour
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar together.
Add eggs, sour milk and lemon extract; beat after each addition.
Sift soda, baking powder, nutmeg and flour together.
Chill dough 30 minutes. Flour hands.
Roll a portion of dough (small egg size).
Dip or roll in a bowl of sugar.
Flatten with two fingers.
Place 2 or 3 raisins in center.
Bake until light brown.
