Smothered Round Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 round steak (3 to 4 lb.)
    1 medium onion, chopped fine
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. cooking oil
    salt and pepper to taste (add salt and pepper to gravy)
Preparation
    Clean and trim
    excess fat from steak.
    Cut into 3-inch wide by
    5-inch
    long
    pieces.
    Salt and pepper the steak and dredge in
    the flour.
    In a frypan, place the cooking oil and heat. Place
    steak
    in
    frypan and cook, turning occasionally until done.
    Remove from the frypan and add remaining flour to the cooking oil;
    stir until brown.
    Add water to make gravy a smooth texture.
    Add
    onions.
    Return
    the
    steak.
    Cover and cook
    for an
    additional
    10
    to
    15 minutes over a low fire. Serves 6 to 7.
