Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
Preparation

Beat shortening and peanut butter and sugar together, then add eggs, one at a time.
Add flour and vanilla.
Roll into walnut size balls and flatten in crisscross pattern with floured fork. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 until light brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
Immediately remove from cookie sheet; cool.
Yields about 2 dozen cookies.
