Strawberry Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    sugar
    1 pt. strawberries, washed and hulled
    1 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1 tsp. cornstarch
    1 egg
    1 1/2 sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Melt 1/4 cup butter in 9-inch square pan.
    Mix 1/2 cup butter; add 1/2 cup sugar and beat until light.
    Add egg and beat well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt and add to first mixture with milk, beating until smooth.
    Carefully spread on berries.
    Bake in oven (375\u00b0) about 30 minutes.
    Let stand 10 minutes; turn out on serving dish.
    Serve at once with cream if desired.
