Holiday Fruit Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. shortening
    4 c. brown sugar
    4 eggs
    1 c. soured milk (1 Tbsp. vinegar)
    6 1/2 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. salt
    2 c. nuts
    2 c. candied fruit
    2 c. candied cherries
    2 c. dates
Preparation
    Mix shortening, sugar and eggs well.
    Stir in soured milk. Measure flour; sift.
    Blend dry ingredients; stir in.
    Stir in nuts, fruit and dates.
    Chill at least 1 hour.
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0. Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake 8 to 10 minutes until almost no imprint remains when touched.
