Cabbage Burger Bake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head cabbage (2 lb.)
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    3 c. water
    6 slices bacon
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 tsp. salt
    32 oz. jar Ragu with mushrooms
Preparation
    Quarter and shred cabbage.
    Spread half in buttered 12-cup baking dish.
    Saute bacon just until fat starts to cook out in frying pan.
    Stir onions and rice in drippings
    in frying pan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until onion is soft and rice is lightly browned.
    Spoon over cabbage in baking dish.
    Cook ground beef and crumble over rice mixture.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Top with remaining cabbage.
    Heat Ragu and water to boiling.
    Pour slowly over cabbage.
    Top with bacon.
    Cover and bake at 400\u00b0
    for 1 hour.
