Ingredients

1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1 can red tart pie cherries
1/4 c. sugar
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
Melt butter in 9 x 9-inch pan.
Mix sugar, flour, baking powder and milk into batter.
Pour batter over melted butter in pan.
Do not stir!
Spoon pie cherries, juice and all, over batter.
Do not stir! Sprinkle 1/4 cup sugar over top.
Bake for 60 minutes.
