Molasses Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dry oatmeal
    4 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. soft shortening
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. raisins
    3 tsp. salt
    2 pkg. dry yeast in 1/2 c. warm water
    5 c. flour
    6 to 7 c. flour
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Combine oatmeal and boiling water.
    Let stand 1 hour until cool.
    Add next 7 ingredients.
    Mix well and let rise.
    Add rest of flour and knead well.
    Let rise again. Form into loaves.
    Let rise until light.
    Bake about 45 minutes. Makes 3 large or 4 medium loaves.
    This bread freezes well. Can also be made into tea rolls.
