24-Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, shredded
    celery, sliced thin
    1 small pkg. frozen peas
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    Parmesan cheese, grated
    purple onion rings, sliced thin
    1 can water chestnuts
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    1/2 tsp. salt
    Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Preparation
    Place layer of lettuce in a 13 x 9-inch pan. Layer onion rings, celery and water chestnuts.
    Sprinkle with peas.
    Frost with mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle mayonnaise with salt, pepper and sugar. Top with Mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Cover. Refrigerate 24 hours.
    Garnish with tomatoes.
