My Favorite Fruit Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. thinly sliced peaches *
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. water
    1 egg
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. milk
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    light cream
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Grease 11 x 7-inch glass baking dish. In medium sized saucepan, combine peaches, 1/2 cup sugar and water; bring to boil, stirring frequently.
    Keep the peach mixture hot.
