Old Fashioned Walnut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/4 c. shortening, melted
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Re-sift flour with sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Add egg, shortening, milk and vanilla to dry mixture.
    Stir just until all of the flour is moistened.
    Stir in walnuts.
    Turn into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan or divide batter between two greased No. 2 1/2 cans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 1 hour and 20 minutes for rectangular loaf or for 1 hour and 10 minutes for round loaf.
