Seven Layer Salad(Method: Fireless) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce, shredded, or in small pieces
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    1/3 c. chopped red pepper
    1/3 c. chopped green pepper
    8 canned and sliced water chestnuts
    1/3 c. carrot shreds
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas (uncooked)
    2 c. mayonnaise
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
    1/3 c. grated Romano cheese
    1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
    1 hard-cooked egg
    1 tomato, cut into wedges
Preparation
    Layer the first 7 ingredients in a large salad bowl in order given above.
    Combine mayonnaise and sugar; spread over salad vegetables to cover.
    Sprinkle with cheeses.
    Cover with plastic wrap; chill overnight or at least 8 hours.
    Garnish before serving with egg, bacon and tomato.
    Do not toss.
    Serves 6 to 8.
