Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

pastry for 9-inch pie crust
1 c. dark corn syrup
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/3 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt
1 to 2 c. pecan halves
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry. Crimp or flute edges of crust.
In a saucepan, heat corn syrup, butter and sugar over medium heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
In a medium bowl, beat the eggs with electric mixer about 2 minutes or until light and fluffy.
Beat in slightly cooled sugar syrup, vanilla extract and salt. Stir in pecans.
Pour mixture into pie shell and bake 35 to 45 minutes until knife inserted 1-inch from edge comes out clean. Remove to wire rack and cool completely.
