Hash Browns - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large potatoes
    1 small onion
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    2 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    In saucepan, heat 1-inch salted water to boiling (1/2 teaspoon salt).
    Add potatoes and cover tightly.
    Cook 35 minutes.
    Drain and cool.
