Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. peanut butter
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. oatmeal (quick or old-fashioned)
Preparation

Beat shortening and sugars together until creamy.
Add eggs and peanut butter; beat well.
Sift together flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
Stir in oats.
Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Press with tines of fork and crisscross.
Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes 6 dozen.
