Old-Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. buttermilk or 1/4 c. regular milk
    1 egg
    2 c. self-rising flour
Preparation
    Mix sugar, butter, milk and egg in enough flour to make a dough stiff enough to roll.
    Pat out dough like biscuits and put on slightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 until brown, about 12 to 20 minutes.
