After-Church Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean beef (1 1/2-inch cubes)
    2 tsp. salt or adjust to taste
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. pepper or adjust to taste
    2 onions, sliced
    2 stalks celery, sliced
    4 carrots, sliced
    3 potatoes, cubed (with or without peel)
    1 can tomato soup
    Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
    Combine tomato soup and 1/2 can water; sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce; set aside.
    Place beef in 3-quart casserole; sprinkle with salt, pepper and basil. Top with celery, carrots and onions. Pour soup mixture over meat and vegetables, coating all pieces.
    Cover tightly and bake at 300\u00b0 for 3 hours. Add potatoes and bake an additional 45 minutes.
