Bishop Asbury Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 sticks butter, softened
    4 c. sugar
    10 eggs, at room temperature
    2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 c. sifted cake flour (may use 3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Grease and flour a 12-cup tube pan. Cream together butter and sugar using a heavy-duty electric mixer. Add eggs one at a time and with the mixer running continuously at medium speed, add lemon juice and vanilla.
    Finally, add the flour a little bit at a time.
    Pour thoroughly mixed batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours or until a straw test shows that it is done.
    Remove to a rack to cool about 15 minutes, then turn out onto the rack.
