Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. canning salt
    1 1/3 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/3 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/3 tsp. mustard seed
    2 or 3 onions, peeled and sliced thin
    cucumbers, sliced thin (enough for 1 gal.; wash cucumbers)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, vinegar and spices together; pour over cucumbers. Put in refrigerator.
    Do not heat vinegar and spices.
    Takes from 4 to 6 weeks to be good.
    Keep in refrigerator.
    Pack pickles and onions in gallon jar.
    This is enough for 1 gallon.
