Rye Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/2 c. water and 1 tsp. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. milk
salt
1 Tbsp. molasses
2 c. rye flour
8 c. white flour
Preparation

In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in 1/2 cup water. Scald 1 cup water, milk, sugar and shortening.
Mix remaining ingredients and let rise 1 hour or until double in bulk.
Punch down and let rise again.
Knead each loaf before putting in pans. Let rise 1 hour.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes and reduce oven to 350\u00b0 and bake additional 45 minutes.
