Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
    2 c. or more raw peanuts
    red cake coloring
Preparation
    Combine ingredients in large saucepan.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Bring to boil.
    Cook over medium heat to firm ball stage.
    Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons butter or margarine and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Cool slightly and then beat until thickens.
    Drop on wax paper.
