Wilted Lettuce - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 head iceberg lettuce
6 slices bacon
4 scallions, sliced
4 oz. cider vinegar
8 oz. water
1 tsp. white sugar
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Cook bacon until crisp; remove from pan.
Drain, cool, crumble and reserve.
Mix vinegar, water and sugar.
Add to bacon fat in pan; simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
Pour over chopped lettuce in heatproof bowl; toss.
Add bacon bits and sliced scallions.
Serve warm.
Serves 4.
