Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1 c. Pet milk
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped
pinch of salt
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 stick oleo

Preparation

Cook sugar and milk until it boils.
Add dates and salt. Cook to soft ball stage.
Add oleo, nuts and vanilla.
Beat until firm and holds shape on spoon.
Pour candy in row on wet cup towel.
Roll.
When cold, slice.
