Biscotti - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. (1/2 lb.) butter or melted margarine
    4 Tbsp. anisette
    2 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. water
    6 eggs
    5 1/2 c. unsifted flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    2 c. coarsely chopped almonds or walnuts
Preparation
    Mix sugar with butter, anise liqueur, vanilla, water and nuts (optional).
    Beat in the
    eggs.
    Mix flour with baking powder and stir into sugar mixture; blend thoroughly.
    Cover and chill for 2 to 3 hours.
    Directly on greased baking sheets, shape dough with your hands to form flat loaves (1/2 inch thick by 2 inches wide by length of baking sheet).
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
