Macaroni And Cheese Italian Style - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped celery
1 clove garlic
4 Tbsp. oil
2 large cans tomato puree
1 c. water
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. oregano and basil
1/2 lb. large macaroni, cooked and drained
1 lb. Ricotta cheese
grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation

Cook onion, celery and garlic in oil until soft; remove garlic. Add tomato, water and seasoning.
Bring to boil; simmer slowly for 1 hour.
In a shallow baking dish, 8 x 8 x 2-inch, put a thin layer of sauce.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and top with half of the macaroni.
Top this with the Ricotta cheese.
Cover with some of the remaining sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Add macaroni and last of sauce.
Sprinkle generously with Parmesan cheese.
Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0.
