Sorghum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 c. sorghum molasses
    1/2 c. hot water
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Cream shortening until light. Add unbeaten eggs and beat until light and fluffy.
    Add molasses and dry ingredients.
    Beat until smooth.
    Add hot water, stirring briskly.
    Turn into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
