Prune Lunch Box Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. prunes, pitted and cut up
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts)
1 c. hot water
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. each nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves
Preparation

Simmer prunes 5 minutes.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add prune mixture and remaining ingredients.
Blend thoroughly one minute.
Pour into greased and floured pan (8 1/2 x 13 1/2 x 2-inch).
Bake about 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Cool and cut in bars.
I use powdered sugar icing, but it doesn't need icing.
