Beef Stew With Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 sticks of butter
    2 lb. beef cubed
    1 onion diced
    1 1/8 cups flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    4 cups boiling water
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 eggs
    3 tbsp. milk
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy pot. Add beef and cook until brown. Add onions, cook until tender. Sprinkle with 2 tbsp. of flour, salt and pepper. Mix well, stir into water. Simmer for 3 hours. Combine flour, baking powder and pinch of salt in a bowl, add egg and milk mixture. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls into stew and cover. Cook for 15 minutes or until dumplings are done.
