Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sifted flour
    1 lb. butter
    12 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavoring
Preparation
    Cream butter thoroughly; add sugar and cream together until light and fluffy.
    Add egg yolks, well beaten.
    Beat for several minutes.
    Add flour, a small amount at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add flavoring and beat for several minutes.
    Fold in slightly beaten egg whites.
    Bake in paper-lined pan in a slow oven from 275\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
