Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted Swans Down cake flour
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. shortening (room temperature)
    1 1/3 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    3 sq. Baker's unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
Preparation
    Sift flour with sugar,
    soda and salt.
    Stir shortening to soften.
    Add flour mixture, 1
    cup
    milk
    and vanilla.
    Mix until flour is dampened.
    Beat 2
    minutes
    at
    medium speed of electric mixer.
    Add eggs,
    melted chocolate and remaining 1/3 cup milk. Beat 1 minute longer.
    Pour
    into
    two
    greased and floured 9-inch layer pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
