Butterscotch-Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. shortening
2 c. quick oats
2 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 Tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. butterscotch chips
1 c. chopped nuts (if desired)
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugars.
Add beaten eggs and hot water; mix well.
Add flour and soda.
Add vanilla and oats; mix well. Add chips and nuts.
Drop by teaspoon onto baking sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
