Mint Surprise Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    5 oz. pkg. Andes mint wafers, cut in half
    walnut halves
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda and salt; set aside.
    Cream butter and shortening.
    Add sugars gradually; mix well.
    Add eggs, water and vanilla; beat well.
    Blend in dry ingredients; mix well.
    Dough may be chilled.
