Midwestern Scalloped Corn And Sausage Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 tsp. salt
pinch of black pepper
2 medium fresh tomatoes, sliced
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
3/4 lb. pork sausage
3 Tbsp. flour
1 1/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. whole kernel corn, drained
Preparation

Brown sausage; drain off all fat except about 2 tablespoons. Add flour and stir until blended, then add milk and stir until mixture boils and thickens.
Add corn, salt and pepper to mixture. Place into shallow casserole.
Arrange thick slices of tomato over the top of sausage and corn mixture.
Top with grated cheese. Place under broiler for 4 to 5 minutes, until tomatoes are cooked and cheese is melted.
Yields 4 servings.
