Ingredients

1 c. chopped dates
1 c. sugar
1 stick oleo
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. pecans, chopped (optional)

Preparation

Mix first 4 ingredients together and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it boils hard.
Cool slightly; add 1 teaspoon vanilla and Rice Krispies.
You may substitute 1 cup nuts for 1 cup Rice Krispies.
Cool.
Form into balls (1 teaspoon each) and roll in coconut.
(Good frozen.)
