Parmesan Vegetables - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. fresh broccoli
    4 c. fresh cauliflower
    1 large onion, sliced
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. basil
    2 c. mayonnaise
    1 lb. bacon, crumbled
    1 large head lettuce (bite size pieces)
    2 c. seasoned croutons
    1 (8 oz.) sliced water chestnuts
Preparation
    In large bowl, break broccoli and cauliflower into bite size pieces.
    Combine with onion.
    In small bowl, combine sugar, cheese, salt, basil and mayonnaise.
    Mix well.
    Toss vegetables and dressing.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Just before serving, add remaining ingredients.
    Toss lightly.
