Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. creamed corn
1/3 c. bacon grease
1 c. whole green chilies
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
1 c. grated Monterey Jack cheese
Preparation

Mix first 7 ingredients together.
Spread 1/2 mixture into a greased 8 x 11-inch casserole dish. Layer chilies evenly over mixture and sprinkle both cheeses over chilies.
Cover with other half of mixture.
Bake, uncovered, at 400\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes. This recipe may be doubled.
